COLUMBIA- Following the scoring spree against Iowa Friday night, the University of Missouri men’s lacrosse program defeated GRLC-West opponent Nebraska in its regular season finale on Senior Day, 15-5. With the win, the Tigers secure the No. 2 seed in the West for the GRLC tournament in St. Louis.

After honoring the graduating class, Missouri opted to start all six seniors, and if paid off, as the Tigers got out to an early lead, going up 6-2 after the first quarter. The team would never look back, leading by six at half and eight after the third. On offense, freshman Noah Iverson (St. Louis, Desmet Jesuit) led the unit, tallying a season-high ten points (three goals, seven assists). This was Iverson’s third nine-point game in a row, a rare feat in college lacrosse. In six games played, Iverson leads Missouri in both points (37) and assists (22).

On defense junior Alex Schott (St. Louis, Ladue), tallied six ground ground balls, while junior goalie Matt Needham (Northbrook, IL, Glenbrook North) stopped 17 shots, his most saves on Stankowski all season. Senior face-off specialist Phil Bergman (Media, PA, Strath Haven) went 15 for 21 with six ground balls.

The Tigers will be facing Miami-Ohio in the first round of the GRLC tournament on Friday April 29 at Wash U South. Game is scheduled to start at 9:00 p.m.
