Mizzou moves to two-a-day practices

The University of Missouri Men’s Lacrosse Team has recently changed their schedule to two practices a day. Due to the record breaking snowfall, the team has not been able to practice outside on Stankowski Field. The team now practices from 7:30am to 9:30am and then from 4:00pm-5:00pm. The response from the players has been positive. Sophomore Alex Domino had this to say about the recent change, “We, as a team, have a bar that we have set and we will do whatever it takes to reach our goal. We feel that we are in control of what we want to get out of this season. Working hard is nothing new to any of us. Coach Euker exemplifies dedication and a hard work ethic, and Denver (where the National Championship is held) is what’s on our minds. Nothing is going to stand in our way.”

The team has morning practices inside the Mizzou student recreational facility where they practice footwork, conditioning and running through plays. In the afternoons, the team works outside in the snow on shooting and stick skills. After being ranked No. 1 in the preseason poll for the Great Rivers Lacrosse Conference, the team will have many more eyes on them this spring. “The ranking means nothing until we prove it,” said junior Nick Schatteman. “All we can do is prepare ourselves to bring our very best to each and every game we play. If we do that, the rankings will take care of themselves.”

The Tigers are set to play Washington University in the preseason scrimmage this Saturday at 1pm.
