Tigers can’t build the momentum, lose 7-8

Not enough offense and not enough defense led to a 7-8 overtime loss to Illinois State, a team the Tigers felt they should have beaten.

Coach Keith Euker was nearly speechless at halftime, not sure what to say to his team after a lackluster 30 minutes of play against the Illinois State Redbirds.

Though the Tigers certainly weren’t out of the game at the half, they weren’t playing the kind of ball they’d been playing this season. Euker minced no words expressing his displeasure with an offense that wasn’t running plays and a defense that allowed easy shots-on-goal.

The two teams exchanged the lead several times during the game, neither team able to distance themselves from the other.

The game wining goal came just :46 into the 4:00 overtime period.

With only four games left in the season, the Tigers will have to regain composure quickly. They play Wisconsin at St. Louis University High School Sunday, April 11 at 10 a.m. (Note: this is a location change.)
