Moving in the right direction

The 2010 season yielded positive results for the Tigers. Widely considered to be in a rebuilding period; Mizzou was able to finish above .500 with a record of 8-7 while setting a program record of eight All-Conference selections along with two All-American nominations—both a first in the program’s history.

Known for rigorous discipline on the field combined with a defense that gained a fearsome reputation nationally, the Tigers lost three close contests by no more than three goals to conference rivals Indiana, Lindenwood and Illinois, teams which traditionally had beaten Mizzou by 10-15 goals. In doing so, the Tigers proved to themselves and Coach Keith Euker that the program is headed in the right direction. “We knew we would have to be patient while rebuilding,” said Euker. “Though we weren’t satisfied with the overall record, we know there was a lot more to last year’s progress than what is shown on paper.”

The Tigers open this fall against Kansas on October 9 at Kansas and finish the season on November 6 at home against Missouri State.
