The Tigers split games this weekend, winning big over a young Arkansas team Friday night then losing to division-leading Wisconsin Sunday morning.

Friday night’s chilly temperatures didn’t affect Missouri’s shooting, scoring 12 goals in the first quarter on the way to an easy shut-out win. Having faced lop-sided games in Minnesota, coach Eric Chole had no problem agreeing to a running clock for the rest of the game. He used the playing time to work the offensive playbook.

Sunday’s game was more competitive but the Tigers made several mental mistakes that kept them from coming back to win it. They lost to Wisconsin 11-7. Missouri is now 1-1 in the division and 2-6 overall.

Down 5-3 at the half, Missouri started the third quarter with two quick goals to tie the score at 5. But Wisconsin answered with three unanswered goals, taking an 8-5 lead. The Tigers were unable to regain the spark they had at the beginning of the half, making a number of mental mistakes that cost them goals.

Missouri’s next game is scheduled for noon Saturday, April 20, at Iowa.
